Club Lake Plantation Wedding
Sierra and Alek tied the knot during their Club Lake Plantation wedding in Apopka, Florida. The two envisioned a rustic wedding filled with sparkle from Sierra’s gown to their wedding day details.
College Sweethearts
Having met in their freshman year of college, the two would have never crossed paths if it wasn’t for a mutual friend inviting them both to a July fourth party. Catching Alek’s eye, he approached Sierra and the two chatted throughout the night. Later that week, Alex added Sierra on Facebook and the flirted for a little bit online before taking their relationship offline for a first date. Officially together by the end of that month on the 30th, they have been inseparable since.
When asking my couple about what the love most about one another, they both agreed it was each other’s humor. As Sierra and Alex explain, “we love that we can make each other laugh and how similar we are to each other.”
From the moment they met…
Fast forward a few years, the two had since graduated college and continued to build their lives together. Knowing from the first year of dating that Sierra was ‘the one,’ Alek began planning out his proposal to her. Taking Sierra to her favorite restaurant, Alek hid the ring in the back of his car so she wouldn’t see it. Arriving, parking, and walking to the back, he wasn’t expecting Sierra to follow him and had to switch to plan B of instead of proposing in the restaurant to propose afterwards. Finishing a beautiful dinner, the two headed back to the car, and Alek grabbed the ring from the back. A little nervous, he explained that he had wanted to propose in a more romantic setting at the restaurant, but didn’t want Sierra to see the ring. Of course though, it really is never about the perfect timing or perfect location, but just about the perfect person. Alek proposed to Sierra and of course she said, “yes!”
Wedding Day at Club Lake Plantation
After six years from when they first met, their wedding day finally arrived. The two envisioned a rustic wedding and Club Lake Plantation was of course the perfect option. Arriving a bit early, we were greeted by our gorgeous bride wrapping up hair and makeup. With the guys a bit behind, we captured Sierra’s ‘getting ready’ time and awaited the arrival of our groom. As soon as Alek arrived, we prepared him for his first look with Sierra.
Walking down the long walkway to Alek through a vine covered pergola, Sierra was radiating with joy! Tapping Alek on the shoulder, he turned to her and did all he could to hold back the tears. Our couple’s first look moment was the perfect opening to a most beautiful day.
Wanting to attend cocktail hour, we planned for formal portraits to take place prior to the ceremony outside. The rain unfortunately had a different plan in mind, so we opted for formal portraits inside their ballroom. I loved though how the rustic vibe of formal portraits matched the theme of our couple’s wedding day.
As the rain began to subside, we had just enough time for Sierra and Alek’s ceremony to take place outside underneath the flower arched pergola. Sharing their vows and sealing it with a kiss, Sierra and Alek were officially Mr. and Mrs.!
Back inside their reception room, the two partied the night away, cut a delicious cake by Couture Cakes by Lia, and ended their night with a few nighttime photography portraits. Hugging our couple goodbye, we were sad for such a beautiful day to end!
Wishing Sierra and Alek an amazing forever together!
