Palmetto Bed & Breakfast Wedding
How They Met
Adam and Kendall met in 2013 at Adam’s parents house before a group trip to Destin for the weekend. Kendall and Peyton, Adam’s sister, were in the same sorority, and Kendall was already close with all of his family before she even met Adam. Kendall shook Adam’s hand in his parent’s kitchen, they introduced themselves, and then the rest of the weekend they could both tell something was there between them. After a blessing from Peyton (since Kendall was her little sorority sister and best friend, of course), Kendall and Adam started dating and the rest was history.
Falling in Love
Kendall loves the fact that Adam is so outgoing and confident. He brings out the absolute best in her and always pushes her to step out of her comfort zone. He can always find a way to make her happy and laugh, even when she’s having a bad day. Kendall loves his sense of humor and his intense drive to succeed. Most of all, she loves that he makes her a better, happier person. Adam loves all the ways Kendall knows how to make him smile; from her sense of humor, which still takes Adam by surprise- even after almost 6 years together, to helping him realize new ways to look at people and the world. He loves that she brings out the best in him by always being there for him whenever he needs her, and her ability to make everything in life more fun.
A Blue Ridge, Georgia Proposal
In the Fall of 2013, Adam and Kendall visited Mercier Orchards in Blue Ridge, GA to pick apples. As Kendall had never seen mountains before, seeing the gorgeous views of the apple orchards in the rolling foothills quickly became one of Kendall’s favorite things to do. Adam loved it as well, and it became a tradition for the two to visit every fall. On their fourth year of visiting, Adam was watching Kendall pick apples and decided this was where he was going to propose. On their fifth year visiting, Adam decided then was when he would pop the question. That morning, he nervously dressed in his nice jeans and button-up, and stuffed the ring box in his sock and held it there with hair bands around his calf and ankle. Kendall was confused, as they normally just wore t-shirts and old jeans to go pick apples, but she decided to wear a nice shirt and some capris so she didn’t look too dressed down next to Adam. Adam was quiet on the drive up that morning, but Kendall didn’t think anything of it and thought he was just tired. As they waited in line for the tractor to take them up into the orchards, they stood behind two people with very large, nice cameras. Kendall, again, didn’t think anything of it. As they settled into the tractor ride, Kendall noticed a woman sitting across from them with a name badge with “wedding planner” written on it. Once again, Kendall didn’t think twice about it, how naive! The tractor driver stated he was going a different route to go farther up the hill so the passengers could see the old apple house and take pictures in front of the mountains on the top of the hill. This was new, Kendall thought, they had never done this the four years prior. When they stopped, Adam took Kendall’s hand and walked her in front of the couple with the cameras and the planner, and it wasn’t until that moment that Kendall realized what was happening. Adam got down on one knee, she said yes, and they spent the rest of the day blissfully picking apples and drinking cider.
Wedding Day at the Palmetto Bed & Breakfast
The theme is floral, romantic, and timeless. Our colors are blush, navy, and burgundy, with splashes of gold. We are so excited about our venue, as we love the water and the classic look of the historic B&B. Ceremony will be in the front lawn of the B&B, under the old giant oak overlooking the Manatee River. Reception will be in the garden of the B&B. Cookies and apple cider donuts from Mercier Orchards, where we got engaged will be served at dessert. We are also using our favorite hard cider from Mercier’s as the toasting beverage in lieu of champagne.
