Danielle and Trey met me out at The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens in Jacksonville, for their beautiful engagement, which ended on the water at Memorial Park. My sweethearts actually met at the University of Florida when they were both attending graduate school. A mutual friend happened to show Danielle a picture of Trey and thought they would be the perfect match! As soon as Danielle saw Trey’s smile in the picture, she knew a date was in order.
Blind dates are definitely are exciting and nervous opportunity to meet someone. Walking up to her date, Danielle was excited to see that handsome guy she saw in the picture in person and Trey couldn’t wait to see the girl he had heard so much about. Potential perfect matches was right on target and the one fateful blind date turned into a beautiful love story.
I always love asking my couples what their favorite attribute is about one another. Trey explained that he loves how Danielle “wears her emotions on her sleeve,” which lifts him up. It is truly her heart that sets her apart from anyone he has ever met. Danielle loves and adores Trey’s kindness. As she lovingly explains, Trey “has such a gentile spirit about him and yet carries an unwavering strength. It’s the most beautiful thing ever. Four years of dating and his cool, calm disposition still never ceases to amaze me.”
Trey knew that Danielle was the one for him. He had found a beautiful soul with a beautiful heart. Danielle was everything he had ever wanted in his life partner and couldn’t wait to marry her. After finishing graduate school and dating for a few years, he knew it was the right time to ‘put a ring on it!’ So he set his plan in motion to surprise her with a beautiful and intimate engagement.
Asking Danielle to come with him to a park near their home, he let her know that they were meeting his friend their before dinner. When she arrived, he took her hand and walked through the park explaining his love for her. Trey then asked for her hand in marriage and of course Danielle said “yes!” What makes the moment even more special, is that Trey invited their close family and friends to witness his proposal who came out right when he asked her to marry him!
Wedding planning can be the most wonderful and difficult process. I love sharing advice from and with my brides to help them through planning their big day. In turn, I asked Danielle what one the one best piece of advice and the one worst piece of advice she has received so far. Starting off with the best – be true to yourselves and your desires, as you will only have one wedding day. And the worst had me laughing – a choreographed wedding party dance. The two just weren’t too crazy on the idea.
I am so looking forward to capturing these two tie the knot at the Cross Water Hall at Nocatee in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida this coming April!
