Veronica and Stephen met me out in Downtown Sanford for their city engagement. The two love spending time along the water after work and date nights in the park. Absolutely a sentimental location, it was the perfect spot to capture their love.
It is crazy to think that just one year ago, Stephen messaged Veronica through Match.com, which led to the two of them meeting up for dinner and drinks at Bulla in Winter Park. Living in Sanford, Stephen invited Veronica out for a second date to explore the downtown area and for drinks at Imperial – a super cool, vintage bar, that also sells antique furniture. Walking along the water after, the two shared their first kiss and haven’t been apart since.
Veronica fell in love with how positive Stephen is. Truly no matter how bad her day is or what is going on in their lives, Stephen will always turn it around to melt her heart and bring a smile to her face. As Veronica explains, “I knew Stephen was the one, because he inspires me to be the best version of myself.” For Stephen, he uses the word “AMAZING” to describe the catch-all for everything he loves about her. From the way she allows him to be affectionate towards her, his silly sense of humor, and of course how much he loves her kind-hearted, sweet, and affectionate nature, the two are just a match! As Stephen explains it, Veronica’s “smile and eyes never fail to fill my soul with love and make me smile.”
Stephen knew he had found ‘the one’ in Veronica and began searching for the perfect ring. It wasn’t long before he found it and just two days after proposed to her during a day of reminiscing. Starting off with taking Veronica to their spot, Imperial, the same place they had their second date, the two enjoyed drinks and reminiscing about when they first met. Following Imperial, they walked along the waterfront and stumbled upon a sweet bench, not unlike the one where they shared their first kiss, and sat down to admire the view. A few minutes later, Stephen got down on one knee as Veronica was looking at the water and told her how much he loved her, along with “that’s why I want you to marry me.” Stunned and excited, Veronica composed herself and said,”yes, of course” as Stephen proceeded to put the ring on her right hand – oops, but he quickly fixed it to the left! The two laughed and couldn’t have been more happier in that special moment – that is of course until their wedding day!
With their wedding day in mind, the two told me their best piece of advice from the planning process is to not stress out about anything – that’s right – anything! As they explain, “don’t stress about the little things, because people won’t even remember them… the day goes by in a blur and taking a moment or two to look around at the people you love will help you be fully present.”
