The Proposal
He has always talked about us getting married, and the talks became serious eventually, so I knew it was coming but I didn’t want to know the when, where, and how. We went to lok at rings, I chose my top 3 but he picked the diamond and the ultimate design. I get dressed up for every darn holiday (Thanksgiving, my birthday, Christmas) and nothing. We had a New Year’s Eve party at his parent’s hosue with his family there, and when the countdown ended and everyone was cheering, they just… kept cheering. I was thinking to myself, “wow, they must be really jazzed about 2022” when I turned and he was on one knee. It was a surprise to his family too because only a select few people knew about it. His brother had the ring and actually tripped on his way to giving it to Arthur, so it almost didn’t happen as planned ha-ha but it all worked out! We had our cultural Hmong wedding July of 2022, and are now getting married December 2023!
Wedding Day Vision
Our vision is timeless, romantic, elegant, and modern with a little bit of vintage. I wanted a bit of whimsy, so we chose the wildflower fields as the backdrop to our ceremony, and simple yet sophisticated decor was my goal. Overall, we wanted to have great food with our close family and friends to celebrate us! We have been friends for 11 years and dating for 9 years, so everyone is probably thinking, “It’s about time!”.
