Heather and Eric tied the knot during their First Presbyterian Church of Fernandina Beach wedding and celebrated the night away with friends and family at the Fernandina Beach City Golf Course. The two envisioned a traditional wedding day ceremony and more relaxed vibe for their reception.
#swipedright2love was the perfect hashtag for where Heather and Eric’s story began. The two met over Tinder when they both happened to ‘swipe right’ after seeing one another on the app. While they both swiped right, Heather was still a little apprehensive about meeting Eric in person, but after their first in person date, it was clear as day that they had a connection.
As their relationship grew, both Heather and Eric realized that what they had been missing in their lives was true love. When Eric was ready to ask for Heather’s hand in marriage, he asked her father for her hand in marriage and planned a weekend getaway at the Hyatt Regency Orlando. After arriving at the hotel and settling in, Eric brought Heather up to the rooftop for a night recap to watch the sunset. Heather was completely surprised when Eric asked her to cuddle up next to him and shared a video with her. Filled with pictures, personal quotes, and background music of her favorite song, the video highlighted the love that they shared as a couple. At the end of the video, Eric asked for her hand in marriage and Heather of course said, “yes!”
From their engagement session in Melrose, Florida on Santa Fe Lake to their wedding day in Fernandina Beach, it has been so amazing getting to know these two incredibly kind souls. Our day started off with capturing the details of the church along with Heather’s details as well until our lovely bride to be arrived. Buttoning up Heather’s dress, mom was on the verge of tears as she realized her baby girl was about to be married. Along with Heather’s mom, her best friend Kristy and Eric’s daughter Ashley also helped Heather with putting on her jewelry and veil.
Once Eric arrived, we headed outside for our darlings first look that took place in front of the door leading to the church. I loved the location, as it was the perfect way to share a first look before taking the first steps as husband and wife. Heather tried her best to hold back the tears as she walked up to Eric and the two saw one another for the first time. For a smooth day, my couple opted to have all formal portraits taken before the ceremony so they could head over to the reception right after.
Their wedding day colors of coral and grey shined through in the groomsmen’s suits and bridesmaids’ dresses along with their table décor at their reception. First Presbyterian Church of Fernandina Beach is also a very special location to heather, as it is where her parents were married and the church she grew up worshipping in. With vows and prayers said, a first kiss shared, the two headed outside for a bubble sendoff leading to their getaway car before we headed over to their reception.
Let me just tell you that their adorable exit was just as fun as their reception entrance. From their first dance to a coordinated wedding party dance, guests could not stop cheering the newlyweds on as they enjoyed watching the show.
Enough cannot be said by how amazing it was to capture the love of two amazing people. I feel so lucky to have been a part of their big day, along with my team, and am excited to share their amazing images with you. Wishing these two an incredible life together as Mr. and Mrs.!
