Fraternity Sorority Inspired Engagement
Miranda and Charles met me out in beautiful downtown Winter Garden for their fraternity sorority inspired engagement. After Miranda sent along a few inspiration photos that featured brick and other beautiful areas, I knew that downtown Winter Garden was the perfect spot.
Working at the Car Wash…
May 16th of 2015, the official day Charles first laid eyes are Miranda and that the two met. Charles’ Phi Beta Sigma chapter was hosting a car wash at the local 7-Eleven in Tampa, Florida, which Miranda stopped by to show her support of on her way back home from a study session with her friends. Handing over her keys to one of the guys, Charles kept Miranda company while her car was being washed. Talking about school and their respective organizations, Miranda found at that Charles was attending USF and Charles found out that Miranda was on rotations for Pharmacy school in Orlando and Tampa. Exchanging numbers, Charles made sure to follow up with Miranda and after talking and texting for a bit, asked her out of an official first date; since then, they have been inseparable.
A Sweet Heart
Falling in love with Miranda’s “sweet heart,” Charles loves how Miranda is “always finding ways to be helpful to me and others.” For Miranda, she loves Charles’ “caring nature and his honesty.” As Miranda explains, Charles is “always trying to find ways to make sure that I’m happy and at my best. Even on my worst days, he goes out of his way to put a smile on my face, whether it be a joke, a hug, or ice cream.”
Something Important to Talk About
Finding his true love, Charles knew it was time to propose. Miranda prefaced her story by letting me know about their proposal though, that I should picture an extremely tired Miranda and extremely nervous Charles. On the day of the proposal and a couple of days prior, Charles had mentioned to Miranda that he had wanted to talk to her about something important. Shrugging off the conversation thinking it was important, Miranda was trying to split time between both of their families and just the two of them during the holiday season. On December 24th of 2017, coming home from a long day of work at 1 AM, Miranda found Charles waiting up for her. Thinking of nothing except doing her hair and diving into their comfy bed to rest from the tiring day, she was quite paying attention to Charles who finally had to steal her away from the bathroom where she was doing her hair and ask her for a hug. Well that sweet hug lasted a little bit longer than expected when he looked down at her and said, “you know I love you, and always try to make sure that I treat you the way that I see you and want you to be in my life.” Bending down to now knee, Charles proceeded with “I just want you to know that I see you now and have for awhile as my wife and I just wanted to know if you see it too?” Pulling out a small Disney box with an engagement ring inside, Charles asked Miranda to marry him! Completely in shock, Miranda reminders that she was smiling with excitement like the Cheshire Cat from Alice in Wonderland and it took a little bit to realize she hadn’t immediately said, “yes”! Which of course she did!
What I love about Miranda and Charles’ engagement session, is that it is representative of how they met. Charles, a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, and Miranda, a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, both joined their respective organizations back in 2015. Charles known as “Slaughterhouse” and Miranda known as “Sharp Shooter” were nicknamed during their intake process. The two explain that they call the love they share “Dove Love,” because the Dove is the national symbol that both organizations share.
Looking forward to our capturing Miranda and Charles tie the knot this November at Paradise Cove!
