Greenhouse at Date City Farms Wedding

Laura and Shane tied the knot during their Greenhouse at Dade City Farms wedding in Dade City, Florida, which also just so happens to be their home. Incorporating their rustic style, the two tied the knot underneath grand oak trees, took formal portraits with their pets – including Chewy the camel, and celebrated the night underneath the stars through their glass greenhouse.

How They Met

We met on April 1, 2016 after connecting on a dating website. We met for dinner in Celebration and then shared a walk around the lake after.

What They Love Most

Shane: I love that Laura is not adventurous by nature, but is willing to give everything a try once to make me happy.

Laura: I love how motivated Shane is in everything he does. Whether it is in our relationship, work, or his hobbies, he always puts in 110%.

The Proposal

We got engaged on February 23, 2018. Because we were dating long distance and have busy schedules, our Valentine’s Day came 9 days late. We had a fun filled day of going to the aquarium, a few breweries, and then dinner at Rooster and the Till. I had suspected he may propose that day, but when we paid and left the restaurant and it still hadn’t happened, I let my guard down. After he opened my car door for me, he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I cried a lot and told him I wanted to go home to tell the dogs.

Wedding Day Vision

Our wedding is going to be extra special because it will be at our home that we are just about to finish building. It will be the best housewarming party ever. We are getting married in a beautiful pasture on our 40 acre farm, and partying the night away in our greenhouse. We picture greenery and twinkle lights everywhere. We are also going to have a fun food truck theme and set up a cute area for them with market lights.
