Megan & Steven’s Embassy Suites by Hilton St. Augustine Beach Oceanfront Resort Wedding – Captured by Christina

Megan and Steven exchanged vows in front of the water during their Embassy Suites by Hilton St. Augustine Beach Oceanfront Resort wedding. We wish these two a lifetime of happiness and cannot thank them enough for allowing us be a part of their special day!

How They Met

Megan and Steven have known each other since they were 16, both growing up in small towns, but didn’t start to date until later on when they noticed one another at the gym. They went for their first official date on St. Patrick’s Day in 2013 and made their relationship official on Cinco De Mayo the same year. Megan doesn’t deny the fact that they both love a good excuse to party! When they finally tie the knot, they’ll have been together for over 8 years – Time sure does fly.

What They Love Most

Megan notices how Steven has such a strong work ethic and rarely complains about a thing. He chooses to work 60 hours most weeks and even after all of that, he’ll come home ready to tend to their home by cutting the grass, shoveling snow, etc. This is one of the many ways he shows his love and commitment to Megan and his family. She also appreciates how laid back Steven’s personality is, as it balances out her personality perfectly!

Steven adores Megan’s compassion and willingness to help those around her. After all these years, she never ceases to amaze him and continually shows her selflessness. Steven loves Megan’s outgoing personality, as it has helped him become less shy and given him a chance to create new, lasting friendships over the years. She is thoughtful, caring and although she would never lead you to believe it, she has been through quite the journey as a cancer survivor.

The Proposal

Back in March of 2018, Megan and Steven had plans to visit their close friends’ house for dinner and decided to bring their dog with them. In typical fashion, they were running behind schedule and Megan was rushing around the house trying to pack what they were bringing and got even more aggravated when she noticed Steve was standing in the kitchen doing absolutely nothing to help her, hands tucked into his sweatshirt pocket. Megan took a deep breath to calm herself and kindly asked him to help her pack up the rest of their stuff so they could head out. Steven looked at her for a few moments and said rather ambiguously, “I have something I’ve been wanting to ask you for a while…” Now, this could have gone in a million different directions, good or bad and in typical Megan fashion she replied, “Okay, so what is it? We’re running behind and have to get going!” Within seconds, Steven got down on one knee with our dog Kimber attempting to lick his face and asked Megan to marry him. She was in pure shock and even asked if he was serious! Megan met him halfway to the floor for a hug and Kimber squeezed her way in for the cutest family embrace there ever was. Steven had a custom ring designed for her and did quite a fantastic job!
