Honeymoon Island Wedding
Kenzie and Ana tied the knot during their Honeymoon Island State Park wedding in Dunedin, Florida. The two envisioned a day filled with their closest family and friends celebrating with them from getting ready to partying into the night.
From Online to In Person
My sweethearts story began back in February of 2016 when the two connected online. Both swiping right for love, they realized that they lived only a few cities apart and decided to meet up in person. It wasn’t long until they quickly also realized how meant to be they were for one another.
The Proposal
Kenzie knew that she had found the one, and began planning out her proposal to Ana. With the holidays coming up, Ana had invited Kenzie to attend a holiday work party with her. Realizing how perfect the party would be with Ana having some of her closest friends around her, Kenzie enlisted the help of their friend Diana to hold the ring so Ana didn’t discover it before the party. When the party finally rolled around, Kenzie was a ball full of nerves and excitement. As the party wound down that night, Kenzie retrieved the ring from Diana and at the perfect moment proposed to Ana. Ana was completely in shock and of course said, “yes!”
Wedding Day at Honeymoon Island
Fast forward to their big day, we arrived a bit early for getting ready pictures at Beso Del Sol Resort where Kenzie and Ana were having finishing touches of their makeup and hair completed. Starting with Ana who was well ahead of schedule, we grabbed some adorable hairspray shots, along with her details, before her mom helped button her up in her dress. One floor up, Kenzie was also wrapping up hair and makeup, before her mom helped her suit up. While Ana was incredible calm, Kenzie was a ball full of nerves yet once again – and of course tons of excitement as well. It was so incredible to capture both of them getting ready with their family and friends who traveled in to be a party of their big day.
Heading over to Honeymoon Island State Park, just a mile down the road from the resort, we jumped into action with Kenzie’s aunt to help with finishing the decorating for their ceremony site. One of my favorite detail items throughout my couple’s wedding day was the carnation rose wall featured behind their ceremony arch – and I was completely blown away when I found out that Kenzie’s mom and aunt had created it. With the ceremony site set, it was time for the procession to begin!
Kenzie’s maid of honor, and sister, walked out along with Ana’s best man, and brother, before Kenzie and Ana. Walking with her dad down the aisle, Kenzie’s smile was absolutely contagious as everyone turned around to see the bride. Waiting for Ana to follow next, Kenzie held back tears as everyone turned to see our bride. Also walking with her father down the aisle, the boardwalk leading to the ceremony felt like a runway, as Ana was an absolutely stunning model!
Their ceremony included a sand pouring, along with vows to one another read by their officiant. Guests laughed as their “forever” agreement included supporting Kenzie’s love of football and Ana’s lengthy time to get ready (mind you she was ahead of schedule from the start for wedding day though Kenzie – she got you there!). With “I do’s” said and a first kiss shared, the two were officially Mrs. and Mrs.!
Formal portraits also took place oceanside at their ceremony arch with family and friends, before we moved closer to the water for newlywed portraits. Laughing at my ability to clear other beachgoers out quickly by mentioning that we “rented the entire section of the beach,” (um not necessarily true, but if you say you like you mean it people will believe you) Ana and Kenzie loved that they had the whole area just for themselves. Grabbing a landscape lens that I brought along just for the occasion, I loved being able to capture some awe inspiring wide shots of our couple at sunset. Before heading back to the reception pavilion where guests were waiting, we grabbed just a few last shots of our couple dipping for a kiss.
Reception entrances, followed by emotional toasts from their siblings, and tons of dancing, filled the night with laughter and love!
Wishing my sweethearts an incredible honeymoon in Punta Cana!
