Kimpton Vero Beach Wedding

Alaina and Andy tied the knot during their Kimpton Vero Beach wedding in Vero Beach, Florida. Envisioning a beachside wedding, the two lucked out with the most perfect weather for a wonderful Florida wedding!

How They Met

From Alaina, “we met each other when we were 16. My brother, Kyle (Best man), decided to join the Boy scouts of America troop 475. This happened to be the same troop that Andy was in. He was the loud, funny guy in the troop that grabbed my attention. I always knew I would end up with someone with a great sense of humor. We started talking January 23, 2009 and he asked me to be his girlfriend February 7, 2009. Even as young as we were, we knew we were it for each other.”

The Proposal

From Alaina, “I had NO idea this was happening. We were going to see our friend, Chelsea (MOH), for vacation in Maine. This was our first trip to Maine and I was just so excited to see Chelsea I did not notice how Andy was acting. Usually he has a tell when he is trying to surprise me. It happened a day after we arrived in Maine. He wanted it to happen on the 7th because 7 is our number. He was in cahoots with Chelsea about the whole thing for months leading up to this day. I cannot thank Chelsea enough for all the help she gave Andy to make this possible.

We went on a drive to go see the Portland Head Light, which is the lighthouse in Cape Elizabeth. We went to Fort Williams Park first and walked around. It was very cool looking at all waves crash up on the rocks down the hill. Then we drove over to the lighthouse and as we were exiting the car there was a wedding up on the hill and I made a comment saying that this was a very beautiful spot for a wedding. As we are walking up to the spot I was saying how I strive on chaos and that Andy is the one that keeps me calm and level headed. We compliment each other and that’s how we have worked for so many years.

When we made it to the spot, Chelsea and Andy were talking to each other in hushed tones and I asked “What are you guys doing?”. Andy told me to “mind my own business” lol. So I turned away and was looking at the lighthouse when I heard my name. I turned toward Andy and I saw the box in his hand. Tears instantly started running down my face. I was so excited. He asked me to marry him and of course I said YES!”
