Nannette and Kirk tied the knot during their beautiful wedding at Leu Gardens and partied all night long during their reception at 310 Lakeside in downtown Orlando, Florida near Lake Eola. The two actually met online roughly four years ago. Chatting turned to meeting in person and a very lovely date that led to many more.
The two had an instant connection from the moment they met in person. Kirk loves the way Nannette’s smile can brighten his day, “a face that calls me in for kisses, and a warm embrace that leaves me feeling loved and cared for.” Nannette loves how handsome Kirk is, his intelligence, and that he is driven. As she puts it, “I love that he’s fundamentally a good person with strong values.”
After a few years of dating, Kirk knew it was time to ‘pop the question.’ He wanted Nannette to be his darling forever and began planning out his proposal to her. In February of last year, Kirk planned a vacation out to Washington State to visit the island that Nannette grew up on, Whidbey Island. Kirk wanted his proposal to bring Nannette back to when she was a little girl and for it to have meaning for the two of them. Passing her home they headed to Deception Pass State Park, where she use to go with her family as a little girl on the weekends. In that sweet little park, Kirk asked for Nannette’s hand in marriage. Nannette of course said yes!
Ironically enough, Kirk proposed to Nannette the day after his birthday and they planned the wedding the day after hers! What a fabulous birthday present if I may say so myself.
Nannette and Kirk’s vintage wedding theme included the colors being teal, chartreuse, Tiffany blue, and grey with the ceremony held inside, overlooking the beautiful gardens. Nannette incorporated a Scottish flair into their wedding as well, since her family is Scottish, by having a piper play as she walked down the aisle and as they walked out after their “I Do’s.”
We truly lucked out with formal portraits, as an impeding storm brought a gorgeous overcast ahead of it, which allowed us to shoot in the heat of the day outside. Nannette’s bouquet from Bluegrass Chic was truly the perfect fit for her wedding day theme. After snapping a handful of family and wedding party shots, we headed off into the gardens and wandered around for a bit taking newlywed portraits.
Wrapping up with formal photos, we headed downtown to the fabulous 310 Lakeside for their reception. One of my favorite DJ’s, Grove Maestros, played the greatest hits and some awesome old school rap. Guests had a blast dancing the night away with the newly Mr. and Mrs. Andersen.
Wishing these two an absolutely fabulous life together!
