The Wineberg family met me out at Mead Botanical Gardens this past weekend for a beautiful family portrait shoot. Jessica and I went to high school together, so it was great catching up and meeting her beautiful family. When Jessica first approached me with meeting up for a family session, she explained her vision as fairytale and whimsical. Seeing other sessions I had done at Mead Botanical Garden, she thought it would be the perfect spot.
Waking up early can definitely be a challenge with little ones, but the earlier the shoot, the better the lighting. I knew we would have to do an early session for very soft, whimsical light, along with the warm yellow glow that comes from the sun rising.
Our session started off in the garden area near the beginning of the park. Truly a gardener’s paradise, the flower garden incorporates an abundant variety of native plants that stay colorful year round. After some fun family shots of everyone together, we broke off into mommy-daughter shots and shots of little baby Russell alone. I just love the bokeh of the plants as they hug the outside edges of Russell’s photos. Isn’t his smile just so precious!
After the garden, we headed over to a walk way area with more floral. It was fun chasing little Jillian and Russell as they ran around and played. It is also important to me during family sessions to grab photos of mommy and daddy alone. Jessica and Tim shared intimate glances and hugged one another as they snuggled up for the camera. Our session ended with attempting to get a few more shots of Russell who was honestly ready to keep running around and did not want to sit still. However the shots came out cute as a button with him being held by mommy and daddy.
Looking forward to next year’s family photos with the Winebergs!
Venue: Mead Botanical Garden
These two adorable photos with a white overcast are due to the sun shining directly into my lens leading to a neat affect on the photos.
Loving the smile on this little one 🙂Mommy and daddy also wanted some time alone for pictures as well.
