Noah’s Event Venue Wedding

Sharlyne and Christopher tied the knot during their Noah’s Event Venue wedding in Lake Mary, Florida. Glam and elegance definitely describes our sweethearts big day perfectly!

How They Met

Chris and I actually met at work in September 2012. We both had just gotten promoted. When we met we both hit it off and we became really good friends, we did a lot of things together either with friends or just us alone. Through our time as friends we started to develop feelings for each other but Chris was the first one to admit these feelings. At first we where both nervous that it would ruin our friendship; we tried to continue to be friends but this proved to be difficult. So much so that Chris broke up with me because it was too hard to be just friends when he wanted to be more. Our break up lasted a week. After that I had a situation and Chris immediately dropped everything he was doing and came to help me even though we weren’t speaking to each other. After that we began to spend time together again like nothing had happened. Shortly after that breakup I finally admitted to myself that I had feelings for Chris too. Even though we were scared of messing up our friendship we decided that our feelings for each other where stronger than anything else and decided to give this relationship a chance. We have been together for 5 years and 4 months since then.

What They Love Most

Sharyle about Chris: Chris is an extremely thoughtful, kind hearted and caring person. He sometimes goes out of his way to help out people he doesn’t even know and that is something that I really admire in him. He inspires me to be a better person to others. Nowadays people are so worried about themselves that they sometimes forget to be kind to others. Chris is that type of person that restores your faith in humanity with his small acts of kindness to complete strangers. That is just one of the many things I love and admire about Chris.

Chris about Sharlyne: There so many things that I love about Sharlyne, she accepts me for who I am. No matter what happens she is always there for me and for others. I am who I am today because of her. She is always supportive and understanding of any decision that I make. I admire her drive; anytime she sets her mind on something I know she will accomplish it.

hee Proposal

For our proposal we went to St. Augustine for a weekend getaway. Chris had planned to tour a wine vineyard and do some wine tasting on the last day of our trip and he was going to propose then. However, I was not feeling well that morning and did not want to go do a wine tasting that day (first curveball of the day). We decided to go sightseeing around the city before we went back home instead. We saw a few places and had lunch in front of the bay. While we were having lunch Chris noticed a couple of horse carriages and asked if I wanted to go on it, to which I said I did not want to go on a ride behind a smelly horse (second curveball lol). The last place we visited was the Lighthouse. Little did I know this was Chris’ last idea of proposing to me. We started to make our way up the lighthouse and I was honestly complaining the entire time up because there was not AC. We made it all the way to the top and it turned out it started raining and they had closed down the top of the lighthouse and we could not go out after we had walked all the way to the top (third curveball). It was so warm so we started to make our way back down. When we got to the first landing Chris asked if we could stop there since there was a small window because it was hot so he could catch his breath. We stopped, looked out the window for a few minutes, Chris was extremely quiet and then I turned around to him and asked him if he was ready to go down yet. Chris was sweating more than I have ever seen him before and his hand was a little shaky. I asked if he was ok and he said yes, he reached his hand in his pocket and took out a ring and dropped to one knee. Chris had an entire speech prepared for the occasion but all the words he could get out were “you know I love you. Will you marry me?” The entire time this was happening there were people going up and down the stairs but nobody seemed to notice what was going on. We stopped a lady and asked her to take a picture of us. After that we started to make our way back home to Orlando. On our way Chris stopped at every pier or “interesting” spot he saw on the road I was thinking he just wasn’t ready to get home, little did I know there was a reason why he wasn’t ready to get home. He was trying to buy time for my mom. Chris had gotten together with her and planned a surprise engagement party in our apartment. When we finally made it home, we made our way up to the door and as I opened the door our family and closest friends were all waiting for us to celebrate our engagement. As I opened the door and everybody yelled congratulations, I closed the door back up and turned around confused. Chris had to stop me and basically open the door and get me back into the apartment before I realized what was going on. After the initial shock and everybody laughing at my reaction to flee we were able to have a small celebration of our engagement.
