Desiree & Amber’s Town Manor on the Lake Wedding – Captured by Dawn

Town Manor on the Lake Wedding

Desiree and Amber tied the knot during their Town Manor on the Lake Wedding.  Taking place as you guessed it, lakeside, their gorgeous ceremony was followed by an intimate reception.  Congratulations to our sweethearts on tying the knot!

How They Met

We met in the 7th grade when Desiree moved to Amber’s school. We became close friends in 11th grade and have been dating ever since (8 years now). We’ve been through university together, nursing school together, and have been inseparable.

What They Love Most

Desiree about Amber: I love that Amber completes me. Soul mate is a cheesy term, but totally fits. She makes me so happy and that smile of hers can light up a room. She just makes me a better person; we balance each other so perfectly and my life has never been better than it is with her in it.

Amber about Desiree: It’s hard to name one thing I love the most, because I love so many things about her. Des has such a caring, loving, generous nature. Even after 8 years, she takes time to still do the little things. And it’s not just doing things for me, she is always quick to help my family with anything they need. She’s a sentimental crier too; it’s so sweet.

The Proposal

We had been together 7 years and have been through many large life changes. We always knew we would be married someday, but someone had to pop the question. So, I (Desiree) decided the time had come and I bought a ring (which was difficult because Amber’s ring-size is extremely small…haha). I had many ideas in my head, and we were going to the beach for a vacation in a few weeks, so I decided that would be the place. I will preface the rest of the story with saying that I am a crier. So, I woke Amber up one morning for us to go on the beach to watch the sunrise. I tried to nonchalantly put the ring box in my sweater pocket and keep in my nerves without her noticing (which, after 7 years, is very difficult). We were sitting on the beach watching the sunrise, it was miserably cold, and I’m fighting the urge to cry while I try to remember the whole speech I had planned. Long story short, I cried and didn’t get through even half of my speech, but I still got the girl in the end. 🙂
