Adventurous, would be the perfect word to describe Sequoya and Christopher’s Paradise Cove wedding. From jet skiing (yes, jet skiing!) to a Beyonce coordinated dance, excitement was around every corner at the Miller’s wedding, but I will get into the details a little later ☺
The two originally met online and started dating after finding out that their offices were right across the street from one another. One lunch date turned into a few lunch dates, which turned into two lunch dates every week. Sequoya loves Chris’ strength, from wanting a chair moved, to someone to bounce ideas off of, or a shoulder to cry on, he is always there. And just as much as Sequoya loves Chris’ strength, Chris loves her attitude. He loves how incredible positive she is in any situation with a relaxed, go with the flow vibe.
During the holiday season, the pair visited the mall to look for a gift for Sequoya. As she puts it, “I am not an easy person to shop for because I am more into experiences than things.” After failing to find the perfect gift, the two headed home. When they arrived, Chris (in a super serious low voice) started talking, well rambling, about how much he loved Sequoya and wanted to ask her to marry him, but didn’t know how! Sequoya, a little puzzled, of course asked, “are you asking me to marry you?” and he said yes; of course Sequoya said yes as well. It was the perfect holiday present; the experience and excitement of knowing you will be marrying your best friend.
With a verbal commitment made, it was time for marriage prep courses and planning out all of the details of their special day. Paradise Cove was the PERFECT choice for my adventurous couple. Earlier I briefly mentioned just part of the days festivities, but there was so much more!
My day started off with capturing Chris and his crew getting ready. They had me cracking up with their rather impressive matrix moves and vibrant personalities. Upon the arrival of his bride, we headed to the boat dock to grab pictures of the guys jumping in as they headed off to the ceremony to make their grand entrance. Sequoya’s keyhole back, lace, wedding dress was just dreamy. Her girls paired in a lovely teal fit perfectly with Sequoya’s color scheme of coral, teal, and starfish. Chris’ eyes melted as he saw his bride for the first time walking down the aisle, but my heart melted when they came back up. After their ‘I Do’s’ and a first kiss shared, the two slow danced their way to Ed Sheeran’s “We Found Love” for their very first dance up the aisle as guests had tears in their eyes. Truly my most favorite non-traditional moment during their day.
After a beautiful first dance, it was time for family portraits and the festivities to begin! All at once, the yummy buffet by Aloha Catering, jet skiing, paddle boarding, dancing, and lip syncing opened up for guests to enjoy. Sequoya had given me a heads up they would be doing a special dance after portraits, but I never expected what was to come. As soon as DJ Live Productions hit the music, the two broke out into a coordinated dance to Beyonce’s “Crazy in Love” song. From flipping Sequoya around his shoulders to upside down, the audience cheered Chris on with his moves. Honestly, I think they both might be in the wrong field and need to audition as Beyonce’s back up dancers. The guests were living it up watching the pair’s quick moves that slowed down into a couples’ dance with everyone.
Our day ended with an adorable (and adventurous) duck boat send off as the two peddled their way out into Lake Bryan. Wishing the Miller’s an incredible life together!
