Plantation Oaks Farms Wedding

Ashley and Brandon tied the knot during their elegant and rustic chic wedding at Plantation Oaks Farms in Callahan, Florida. The two envisioned a day filled with the love of their family and friends as they tied the knot outside under a 50 year old oak tree and partied the night away in an elegant indoor barn ballroom.

My sweethearts story began through being introduced by a mutual friend. At the time, Ashley’s best friend from high school had joined the Navy and was stationed at the same base as Brandon. Introducing Ashley to Brandon, the two began chatting over the phone and on Skype before deciding to meet up in Florida. Their first official face to face introduction wasn’t until a month later when Ashley flew up to Maryland and Brandon picked her up from the airport. I can’t imagine how nerve-racking it must have been to finally meet, but also the excitement that went along with it!

Brandon fell in love with Ashley’s dedication to how hard of a worker she is and how much she cares for their relationship and little family of two puppies. Ashley fell in love with Brandon’s positivity and how he can bring light to any situation. From online to an in-person relationship, they realized they had found true love and Brandon was ready to ‘pop the question.’

During a trip up to New York during the week of Thanksgiving, Brandon brought Ashley to see Central Park. While walking around, hand in hand, Brandon pulled Ashley close when they came to a stunning view on a huge rock overlooking the lake with beautiful trees surrounding them in the colors of Fall. Dropping to one knee, Brandon asked for Ashley’s hand in marriage and of course she said, “yes!”

Fast forward to their wedding day, the two created an intimate wedding incorporating beautiful Florida elements from an age old oak tree to a wooden planked barn, along with a color scheme of pink and grey.

Arriving at the venue, we found Brandon and his groomsmen checking out the farm animals while Ashley and her girls were getting dolled up. I must say that stepping into the bridal suite of what looked like a smaller barn on the outside and finding a five star grey interior, leather white chairs, and multiple makeup placements was jaw dropping. Ashley and her girls looked as gorgeous as ever and after capturing them getting ready and into her dress, we headed over to our groom for a fun few shots of playing pool in the groom’s suite.

Ashley’s grandpa was my sidekick for the day, as we helped him with where to stand to get the best shots for filming his granddaughter’s wedding. Walking down the aisle, Ashley brought tears to everyone’s eyes including Brandon. Their ceremony was heartfelt and sentimental, and followed by family and wedding party portraits before we headed off to explore the nearby surrounding shaded areas for newlyweds portraits.

Back inside the rustic barn turned ballroom, we captured reception entrances, first dances, and tearful toasts. Our night ended with a super silly and adorable bubble send off as the two headed home as officially Mr. and Mrs.
