Karla and Austin tied the knot at their wedding ceremony at Iglesia Fuente de Luz y Salvacion and celebrated the night away during their wedding reception at the Ramona Pavilion Ballroom. My sweethearts envisioned a day filled with their love for Jesus and one another, along with their appreciation and admiration for their friends and family that came to support them tie the knot.
Truly the love could be felt from the moment we walked into Karla and Austin’s home to capture getting ready shots of our lovely bride. Laura Reynolds and her team with Laura Reynolds Artistry was creating a natural elegant look on the girls that brought out Karla’s stunning eyes. Karla truly planned out every detail in her gold and blush theme from the colors throughout her reception and ceremony décor to gold Antonio Melani heels and blush pink stationary.
Once the girls were dolled up, we captured a few gorgeous shots of the bridal party in their robes before they changed into their blush pink dresses. Bridal portraits along with getting ready portraits were perfectly timed before Karla’s dad came in for an impromptu Father Daughter look. He was clearly taken aback by how stunning both his daughter and the moment was as he held back tears.
With getting ready photos captured, my second shooter Whitney and I headed off to Iglesia Fuente de Luz y Salvacion for our sweethearts ceremony. Welcomed with open arms by pastor Diego Jarmillo, we both knew that it was going to be a warm and inviting ceremony. I must say that I was excited (and a little nervous) to see our groom Austin. He had recently had an ankle injury and I was unsure of how he would be “rolling” into the ceremony. Cart in tow, our groom looking nothing but dapper as he rolled in with a “Mr” sign on his cart.
Thinking back to when Karla and Austin first met was a moment I can’t help but share. By chance a mutual friend felt that both of them would be a perfect match and after a little convincing set the two up. After finding one another on Facebook, chatting online, and finally deciding to meet in person, they realized that their friend had made a perfect match. Reminiscing on the moment they first met at church to now tying the knot at church just goes to show how their love was meant to be from the start.
Austin’s proposal to Karla was also reminiscent on the moment they met and the moments they had shared since. As Karla explains, “When I walked through the door, his brother was waiting with a scroll that read “Welcome to Memory Lane. Please follow the path of rose petals” There were rose petals leading to every room in the house. Each room contained a picture and a letter about something dear to me at one point in my life and finally I reached the living room where a video was playing of my life from when I was a baby all the way up to when I met Austin. In the middle of the living room was a heart made out of rose petals. By the fireplace was a small red mailbox. His brother played a tune on his phone that went “You’ve got mail” and Austin walked over and opened the mailbox and took out a small box and came to the center of the heart and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! It was perfect.”
From a walk down memory lane to now walking down the aisle, Austin could not hold back the tears. Karla didn’t think he would tear up seeing her walk down the aisle, but capturing the moment he saw Karla was nothing but beautiful and emotional. My eyes began to tear up too seeing the beauty of how much he loved his darling.
Their ceremony included kind readings from family and a rope tying ceremony as a philosophical ode to the binding of two hearts and two minds. With a vows declared and a first kiss shared, the two walked down the aisle hand in hand, walking (and rolling), celebrating the beautiful commitment they had made.
Family portraits took place at the church followed by newlywed portraits at a nearby location. The two enjoyed a few laughs with their ‘Mr.’ and ‘Mrs.’ signs along with a ton of stunningly gorgeous newlywed shots next to the fountain. Finishing up our formal portrait hour, we headed off to the Ramona Pavilion Ballroom for our sweethearts reception.
Gold linens and accents lined each table along with blush pink floral. Guests enjoyed a lovely catered meal by the Ramona Pavilion Ballroom along with dancing the night away to music by DJ Carlos Roman. Our night ended with a sweet goodbye hug from our couple before the two headed off.
Wishing my darlings a beautiful life together filled with love, faith, and family!
