Elizabet & Randy’s Fall Wedding at The Acre

The Acre Wedding

Elizabet and Randy tied the knot during their wedding at The Acre in Orlando, Florida.  A vibrant venue filled with little hideaways, fire pits for marshmallow roasting, an outdoor dance floor, and tons of tropical foliage, it made for a gorgeous backdrop for a beautiful day.

One Fateful Day at Work

My couple’s love story began back in 2007 when they met through work.  Hanging out with one another in their group of friends and sharing lunch at work, it took just over a year for their friendship to turn to romance.  Asking Elizabet out on a date, Randy opened the door for the two to become an item.  Their first official date led to many more and soon love ensued.

The Proposal

Randy’s proposal to Elizabet soon opened yet another door for their ‘forever’ to begin.  Picking a weekend that Elizabet’s parents would be in town, he wanted to be sure to include them afterwards to celebrate in the moment.  When that weekend finally came, Randy woke up early that morning and turn to Elizabet in bed before their day began and asked for her hand in marriage.  Completely unexpected and intimate, it was the perfect proposal of which Elizabet of course said “yes” too.  Celebrating afterwards with her parents, the weekend could not have been more special.

Wedding Day

Their celebration of love continued on their wedding day.  Arriving early, we awaited Elizabet to join us with her girls, along with Randy and his groomsmen following shortly after.  Walking into the bridal suite, Elizabet was completely glowing from head to toe.  Her aura filled the room and I completely echo the words of her Maid of Honor during her toast, in how Elizabet cares deeply about those around her and is incredibly giving.  From the moment she arrived, she made sure we had everything we needed and always checked in.  Capturing Elizabet’s details, along with getting in her dress, and bridal portraits as she positively radiated was one of my favorite moments of the day – of course my top fav were newlywed portraits, but more on that later.

With Randy arriving, we headed downstairs to the groom’s suite to capture him suiting up before his first look with his bride to be.  Walking out to Randy, Elizabet smiled from ear to ear as she saw him (well the back of him!).  Turning to Elizabet after she tapped him on the shoulder, Randy was completely speechless by how gorgeous she looked inside and out.

Wanting to enjoy their cocktail hour later on, we planned ahead to capture their formal portraits prior to the ceremony, which followed their first look.  Bringing in their family and bridal party, we quickly captured our couple’s formal portraits before hiding our soon to be Mr. and Mrs. away prior to guests arriving.

A hearty leafy entanglement of vines filled the backdrop of Elizabet and Randy’s ceremony site.  Their family friend, and officiant, shared his knowledge on what makes a great marriage as the two held hands in unison.  Sharing their “I do’s” and first kiss, my sweethearts were officially married!

After their ceremony, as guests funneled to cocktail hour, I stayed back with my couple to grab a few more newlywed portraits – along with some nighttime photography.  A request by Randy, I loved being able to have a spin on photography of doing night portraits, which we do not always get to do.

With newlywed portraits wrapped up, our couple headed over to join their guests for cocktail hour, soon followed by toasts under their tented dining reception.  Memorable toasts, followed by the breaking of bread – a tradition for whoever gets the largest piece of bread broken over their heads will essentially ‘wear the pants’ as head of household – was the perfect start to their night (Elizabet – side note, I was totally pulling for you, but Randy definitely broke the biggest piece – do-over maybe?).  Dancing filled the night as guests mingled under the stars in the open air dance room.  Before we knew it, it was time to say goodbye to such a wonderful day.

Wishing Elizabet and Randy a beautiful forever!
