Amanda & Anthony’s Winter Park Engagement

Amanda and Anthony met me out in the beautiful town of Winter Park off Park Ave. for their engagement session.  While the two will be tying the knot at The Goei Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan they still wanted to celebrate their upcoming nuptials by having their engagement session in their home state.

Online dating has truly opened doors for so many to find their soul mate who might not be right around the corner in person.  However my bride to be was rather skeptical about trying out online dating when her friend approached her with the idea.  After a little (a lot!) of convincing she finally joined the online dating game and within a week met Anthony.  During our engagement my sweethearts explained that Amanda’s profile tag line was “Has anyone seen my yellow umbrella?” which happens to be part of the major plot line of How I Met Your Mother.  Upon Anthony seeing the tag line after he stumbled upon Amanda’s profile, he responded with telling her that he found her yellow umbrella in a bar on St. Patrick’s Day, which just so happened to be another quote out of the show.  Amanda was intrigued and after a few online conversations, the two took it offline for their first in person date.  True to the first introductions, Anthony showed up to Amanda’s door with – you guessed it! – a yellow umbrella!  From that moment Amanda knew that the two of them were meant to be together.

Amanda loves how silly and goofy he is when they are together.  He can bring a smile to her face no matter what may be going on through his silly little jokes and made up song lyrics.  Anthony loves how caring and loving Amanda is.  As he explains it, “she seems to always know the best way to make me feel happy.  I know that no matter how bad of a day that I could have, I will be coming home to her smiling face and I can’t help but be overwhelmed with joy.”  Doesn’t that just bring a smile to your face too!

Over time the two have become absolutely inseparable.  Anthony wanted to make his proposal to Amanda special and reminiscent of their first date.  You may remember Anthony planned to show up to Amanda’s door with a yellow umbrella which went as planned, however their walk around downtown Disney – not so much.  Rainfall led the two to switch their plans from downtown Disney to a nearby Italian restaurant.  Remember their first date Anthony knew he had to incorporate the restaurant where the two shared their beautiful first date.  When Amanda came home the night of their proposal, he asked her to join him for dinner at the nearby restaurant because he was craving tortellini.  When the two sat down at their table the server handed Amanda a wine menu along that had a hand written note inside.  Amanda confused by the sweet love letter looked up to find Anthony kneeling besides her on one knee and asked her, “Will you marry me?”  It was a precious moment that the two shared together at the place where their love began.

With the holidays upon us, I just love asking my couples what they love most about this time of year and their plans.  The two are excited to decorate their home to make it “all Christmasy” as Amanda explains, along with cuddling up on the couch to watch Hallmark Christmas movies with their two pups by the Christmas tree.

Wishing my sweethearts and incredible journey through the wedding planning process and a beautiful holiday season!
