Morning light and a hot new Camaro car for a background prop made Maria and Sergio’s engagement at Kraft Azalea Park in Winter Park an absolute blast! My sweethearts met me in the wee morning hours as the sun was rising for a cool session during this hot Summer.
Maria and Sergio’s love story began at the most magical place on earth… Disney! The two worked together at the Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue in The Fort Wilderness Campground and Resort back in Spring of 2013. Sergio had just recently transferred over to the location when the two officially met. However, while they worked together for a few weeks, it wasn’t until a mutual friend Julie who also worked with them invited the two out for a night cap after work to hang out with their other colleagues when they were finally able to chat it up. As Maria put it, “sparks started to fly,” and the two started dating shortly after.
Besides their love of fast cars and of course spending adventurous drives together, Sergio fell in love with Maria’s confidence and poise. For Maria, “Sergio’s creativeness in all things he is passionate about in life” is what the attribute she fell most in love with. The two just have a natural chemistry together, which was clear as day during their engagement session. From the way Sergio held Maria tight to that twinkly in her eye every time she would look his way.
Celebrating their four year anniversary, the two set off for a weekend getaway to the historic city of St. Augustine in July of 2017. Driving into town, the two made it right before a Florida storm poured in and grabbed lunch, along with exploring around for a bit. Sergio unfolded his secret surprise that he had planned out for Maria, which was a tour around the city. Unsure if it would be a spooky ghost tour, Maria had no clue what she was in for! Making their way to the meeting spot for their tour, Maria was quite surprised to find a horse drawn carriage awaiting their arrival. Touring along the cobblestone streets of the beautiful town, Sergio turned to Maria while they were cuddled up on the carriage and asked for her hand in marriage. Completely out of the blue and unexpected, Maria was surprised, ecstatic, and of course said, “yes!”
