Capen House Wedding

Cassie & Ruben’s Capen House Wedding at the Albin Polasek Museum

Cassie and Ruben tied the knot during their beautiful Capen House wedding at the Albin Polasek Museum in Winter Park, Florida. You may remember my sweethearts from their whimsical engagement at the stunning Mead Gardens located about ten minutes from their wedding venue just a few months back.

Ruben actually first laid eyes on Cassie at work when the two of them met one day while passing in the hall. They both noticed one another and after touching base quickly became friends. From a flourishing friendship to a blooming romance, the two realized how much they had in common and that the love of their life had been in front of them the whole time without even realizing it. Ruben asked Cassie out on an official first date and the two soon realized they were meant to be.

It was Ruben’s free spirit and warm heart that Ruben fell in love with from the way he cares about her to how he makes her feel. Ruben fell in love with how supportive and welcoming Cassie is by making everyone around her feel absolutely loved. I can completely attest to how kind and beautiful my couple is inside and out from spending time with them during their engagement to their big day. The two just have a way about them that brings everyone in and feel loved.

Ruben knew that he couldn’t let Cassie get away and that truly they were “meant to be” so he began planning a royal proposal for his princess. Taking Cassie to the historic town of St Augustine, Ruben arranged for a horse drawn carriage to take the two on a romantic ride across the cobblestone roads and waterfront bridge. As they apphi!roached the waterway, Ruben turned to Cassie and asked for her hand in marriage, which she of course said “yes” too!

Fairytale beginnings in the historic town turned to the next chapter of a fairytale wedding at a historic venue. The Capen House at the Albin Polasek Museum is considered to be the third oldest home in Winter Park. The Victorian Turdor was set to be knocked down where it originally stood in 2013 before being saved by the Winter Park community and relocated across Lake Osceola in two parts on a floating barge to the museum. Now centrally located in Winter Park and right next door to the beautiful Rollins College campus, students, the community, and newlyweds get to enjoy the grounds of both the museum and historic home.

Cassie and Ruben’s day started off like a fairytale. The two arrived early to the Capen House for getting ready photos before sharing a first look. Walking up to Ruben in the garden, we had tears in our eyes of witnessing Ruben seeing Cassie for the first time in her wedding gown. The tears kept flowing as a daddy daughter first look soon followed after.

Set under a darling oak tree on that waterfront of Lake Osceola, guests sat patiently awaiting for our bride to walk down the aisle. Cassie truly looked like a fairytale princess in her wedding gown, but had a secret surprise. The tulle underneath was dyed a Cinderella blue for the perfect pop of color to complement her wedding theme. Sharing sacred vows and a first kiss, we headed off to family and wedding party portraits as guests went to cocktail hour.

I just loved Ruben and his groomsmen’s fun socks that they coordinated to match and Cassie’s bridesmaids’ flowy dresses. Of course, as you know though newlywed portraits are by far my favorite time and moment to capture. Standing under the floral trees and walking along the mature landscaped path of the Albin Polasek museum, the two shared many more kisses and intimate moments during their time alone together. It is just such a beautiful time to have a moment to the two of you after saying “I do” to take in the magic of your wedding day.

Their reception took place outside underneath the whimsical clear tent by Orlando Wedding and Party Rentals. Dappled with market lighting, the tent was the perfect addition to keep the chilly breeze back while guests enjoyed their dinner. Dancing took place inside by Our DJ Rocks who has everyone on their feet the whole night! Of course, I couldn’t forget my sweethearts adorable bubble send off as the two were whisked away by car while guests wished them a goodnight.

Wishing you a holiday season that is filled with as much love as my darlings Cassie and Ruben have for one another!
