Alexandra & Shane’s Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress Wedding

Hyatt Grand Cypress Wedding

Alex and Shane tied the knot during their Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress wedding in Orlando, Florida.  Envisioning a romantic and elegant vibe for their big day, they tied in a mix of soft and bring pink tones, a gorgeous outdoor lakeside ceremony, and indoor reception in glass walled ballroom; which offered wall to wall stunning views of the sunset.  Above all else though, the two were excited to celebrate with their friends and family, many of which they do not get to see often enough!

On the first day of graduate school…

Love began for Alex and Shane on their first day of graduate school at the University of Central Florida.  Both in the same program, and in turn inadvertently having classes together, the two became fast friends and began hanging out together outside of class with their other classmates.  Drawn to one another because of their similar sense of humor, each made the other laugh all the time and brought a light to their lives that they hadn’t foreseen. During a study abroad trip to Russia in May of 2014, they realized that they had stronger feelings for one another than just study buddies and took their relationship to the next level with officially beginning to date.  The two have been insupportable from that point on!

Love First

Falling in love with how caring Shane is, Alex explained that Shane “genuinely wants to make me happy” and that he has helped in realizing not to sweat the small things in life (or at least trying not too!), and in turn becoming a better version of herself.  For Shane, he fell in love with how caring Alex is, along with her willingness to help others.  As Shane explained, “her love for her friends and family is only bested by her love for animals, and she would spend every dime she makes on our dog, Annie, if she knew it would make her life better.”

A Vero Beach Proposal at Sunrise

Planning a beach getaway to Vero Beach to celebrate their birthdays, Alex never expected what was to come!  On Saturday night of their trip, Shane suggested waking up early Sunday morning to walk to watch the sunrise.  Loving the idea, Alex obliged and the two woke up early the next morning.  Finding a spot to watch the sunrise, Shane asked Alex to stand up and continue to their walk.  Not even realizing the big ring box bulge in Shane’s pocket, he slipped out the box as soon as Alex stood up and got down on one knee, asking her to marry him.  The private moment was absolutely perfect, and of course Alex said, “yes!”

Wedding Day at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress

Fast forward to their Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress wedding in Orlando, Florida, I couldn’t wait to see my sweet couple again since I had seen them last at their engagement session.  Greeting our bride first, we were in luck with Alex and her girls being finished with hair and makeup and ready to dive into photos!  After a few cute robe shots and a toast, we had our girls change into their dresses, followed by formal portraits of Alex and her girl’s outside.  I love being able to capture individual party shots before the ceremony, as it always allows time back for more newlywed portraits during the formal portrait hour. While our girls were wrapping up photos, we captured Shane and his guys getting ready as well, along with their formal portraits outside in a different tropical location.  Let me just tell you, the photo ops at the Grand Cypress are endless!

With a larger guest count, our couple’s ceremony took place under a luxury white tent alongside the lake and golf course.  While storms were rolling in, they held off just enough for our couple’s ceremony and formal portraits with their family, a large bridal party shot of the girls and guys together, along with my favorite – newlywed portraits!

Back in our couples glass wall to wall ballroom, called La Coquina, we captured a stunning ballroom portrait before guests entered and our couple was hidden for their reception entrance.  After being announced in, formal dances ensued along with some sentimental toasts.  Dancing, dining, a cake cutting, and more dancing filled the night before hugs goodbye!

Wishing Alex, Shane, and their pup Annie a beautiful life together as Mr. and Mrs.!
