Jasmine and Carson tied the knot in St Pete, Florida during their Sunken Gardens wedding. A May the Fourth be with you wedding, little tidbits of Star Wars inspiration could be found on groom’s party cufflinks and other areas throughout our couple’s big day.

How it all began…

My couple’s story began back in 2013 when the two met as co-workers at the local Best Buy in St Pete, Florida. Carson would always make sure to bump into Jasmine during their shifts, and while they became friends, they wouldn’t start dating until a year later. Realizing the connection that they head went much further than just co-workers and friends, the two became inseparable as their love grew for one another.

Falling in love with how Jasmine brings out the best in him, Carson explained that “Jasmine is my foundation and keeps me calm and level. She is nurturing and supportive.” For Jasmine, Carson brings balance to her life through making her feel safe, and of course through bringing laughter into her life as well.

A New Year’s Eve Proposal

As their love grew, Carson knew it was time to propose and did so on New Year’s Eve. Kicking off their year with so much love, Carson arranged candles and flowers in the shape of a heart on their dining room table with an engagement ring box front and center in the heart. Walking out into the room where he was waiting for her, Jasmine was completely in shock, over joyed, and full of emotion to realize what was about to take place. Grabbing the ring from the heart’s center, Carson got down on one knee and proposed to Jasmine, and of course she said, “yes!”

Wedding Day at Sunken Gardens

Sunken Gardens set the scene for my couple’s big day. Arriving early, we scoped out spots for picturesque backgrounds, which honestly seemed endless. With many formal portraits to take place, our couple opted to forego the traditional getting ready shots and jump right into portraits with their families. From the time I have spent with them, capturing such special moments in their lives, it was incredible to be back on wedding day and be a part of such a beautiful moment. Carson arrived in their booked transportation first, and we jumped right into his groom’s party portraits and photos with his family. Little details of Star Wars could be found in his cufflinks and the cufflinks his groomsmen wore as well. Once finished with family portraits, we headed back inside to capture our couple’s reception space and await the arrive of our bride.

Arriving shortly after, Jasmine greeted us with the biggest smile. Jasmine looked stunning, as always, and her smile was absolutely contagious! Jumping into Jasmine’s family portraits, bride’s party portraits, and also a father-daughter first look, we captured so many beautiful moments before hiding our bride away to prepare for their ceremony to begin.

Sunken Gardens Wedding Ceremony

Carson and Jasmine’s ceremony took place outside against a majestic green backdrop of tropical foliage. Towering trees and an array of exotic florals twisted together in unison. Walking down the aisle, Carson’s emotion took over as he saw Jasmine for the first time. Tears welling up in his eyes, you couldn’t help but feel the emotion and love my couple share.

After the ceremony concluded we stayed behind with our sweethearts’ families to capture the rest of family portraits and bridal party portraits. Once wrapped up with formals, we were off to explore the gardens. From waterfalls to bamboo arches, the options were endless for where to explore and incorporate into our newlywed portraits.

Sunken Gardens Wedding Reception

Back inside before guests entered their reception space, we also captured a newlywed portrait and a few adorable shots of Carson spinning Jasmine around, and of course ending it with a kiss!

Reception entrances included their bridal party announced inside their reception space, a first dance, father daughter dance, sister brother dance, and toasts by their best man. Dining and dancing soon ensued with a few dance battles on the floor. A bubble send off concluded the night as we hugged our sweethearts goodbye.
