Treasury on the Plaza Wedding

Mikaela and Tim tied the knot in St Augustine, Florida during their Treasury on the Plaza wedding. Lovers of all things Disney, the two incorporated a little fairy dust throughout the theme of their wedding!

It All Began in Castine, Maine

My couples fairytale love story began in Castine, Maine when both Mikaela and Time were attending the Main Maritime Academy. It was actually the first day on campus that Mikaela met Tim who was helping out with ROTC that day. After taking classes for a few weeks together, conversation started up, and finally a first date that led to many more.

A Little Fairy Dust and a Proposal

Disney has always been a special place for Mikaela and Tim. The two love visiting often, sharing time together and making memories for a lifetime. One memory that will always hold a place in their heart though, was the day Tim proposed. Arriving to the parks, Tim and Mikaela jumped in line to take a photo in front of the castle. Stepping out of line, Tim introduced himself to the photographer, which Mikaela though nothing of. As they stepped up for their picture, another photographer came over with a gorgeous tiara gently laying atop a pillow. Completely surprised, Mikaela had always wanted a tiara and with the biggest smile was excited to wear it for the photo.

As she turned back to Tim, already smiling from ear to ear to have received the sweet tiara, she found him on one knee. Holding up a gorgeous engagement ring, he asked for her hand in marriage and of course she said (well more screamed with excitement!), “yes!”

Wedding Day

Their wedding day felt just as magical as their fairytale engagement! Arriving a bit early, we were so excited to be working with Brooklyn from Coastal Coordinating and Lindsay Sarah with The Treasury on the Plaza. While Tim was in route to arrive, we headed over to the bridal suite to find Mikaela wrapping up hair and makeup. Grabbing her details, I immediately fell in love with the way she included so many “secret Mickeys'” from Tim’s cufflinks to her bouquet, and even on their cake! I must say though, that one of my absolute favorite secret Mickey was on the back of her heels – a Pinterest find that she searched for months for!

With our guys arriving, we headed up to the groom’s suite and grabbed a few fun shots of Tim and his group playing cards. While I love capturing the excitement and silliness of our guys getting ready, I also cherish the other moments too – a beautiful one came when Tim and his dad helped his grandfather suit up as well.

Back with our bride, we captured Mikaela’s bridal portraits, along with of course putting on the dress and sweet moments with her girls.

A fun first touch was also incorporated before their ceremony in the golden elevators, right outside the entry doors to their ceremony.

Absolutely radiant as she walked down the aisle, Mikaela’s smile was contagious. Every guest was overjoyed to be celebrating in the love our of our sweet couple as their shared their vows, said “I do,” and sealed their love with a kiss.

With such a beautiful space, we captured formal portraits of family in front of the grand vault before heading outside to the Plaza de la Constitucion park and after Governor’s House for bridal party and newlywed portraits. With so much history, the buildings in St Augustine are always so fabulous as a backdrop for photos due to the crawling vines, brick laid paths, and stone walls. Having a moment alone together, Mikaela and Tim were clearly overjoyed to realize that they were officially Mr. and Mrs.

Back inside, their ceremony space in front of the vault was flipped to now being a stunning reception room. The bridal party’s reception entrance incorporated our newlyweds love of Disney, through each member wearing a Disney inspired look. Have to give up to Tim’s best man who really rocked Tinkerbell – even throwing some fairy dust in the air as he entered.

Our night was filled with sentimental toasts (Mikaela’s MOH totally made us tear up recounting their friendship!), special dances, and of course a music filled night. Closing the night, guests hugged our sweethearts goodbye and their sent them off with a sparkler send off!
