Gabrielle and Andre had to have had one of my most unique engagement sessions yet! The two wanted something absolutely different that represented their outgoing personalities and a spot that they love spending time at, which just so happen to be Universal Studios Entertainment!
When Bri approached me with the idea, I just knew that we had to make it happen. Planning out for an early morning, we hoped to avoid the tourists and sneak into hidden spots. Universal Studios is much more than a place that they love to share laughs and have fun together at, it is also the place where Andre proposed – well to be exact The Mummy at Universal Studios is the place where Andre proposed. First off, I am by far not the roller coaster type of girl. So while I was waiting in line to get in to meet my sweethearts at the Mummy, I was in complete shock when Bri said they were going to take a quick spin on the rollercoaster haha. Well, it truly did not surprise me once I understood how special the ride was too them.
While getting buckled in and riding the dips and turns leading up to the highest point, Andre was talking to Bri about how he wanted their proposal to truly represent the two of them. He told Bri about a few of the ideas their family and friends had from parks to hot air balloon rides, but they both agreed it just didn’t fit their personalities and that is when it happened. 39 feet up in the air, Andre grabbed Bri’s hand, which of course Bri thought was to raise their hands in excitement for the impending drop. Quickly placing the ring on her finger, Andre said to her “THIS is us.” Bri was in complete shock! And for the first time ever – the cameras not only caught a picture of them perfectly and captured Andre’s proposal. I am still in absolute jaw dropping shock of how he did not drop that ring – seriously Andre amazzzzzing!
Their proposal was truly epic and so incredibly unique, yet again though I must reiterate – how did you not drop that ring!?!?! Of course, I just had to have Bri send me the picture to include with the post – check out her hair waiving in the wind. Literally they are dropping on a roller coaster – I am still in disbelief and just in love with this idea!
The two have always shared similar passions and it was only fate that they would one day they would make the connection and click. They first met at the Hammered Lamb during Happy Hour back in August of 2013. Both had mutual friends and loved going to sports bars to watch football. While the two noticed one another, it wasn’t until Bri’s brother gave him a major endorsement and told her that she “should be dating someone like Andre.” Let me just say that he was extremely selective when it came to anyone dating his sister!
After many group outings, Bri wanted to get to know Andre one on one. She asked him if he would be free to spend the day off with her on November 11, 2013 at Universal to tour the park. It was a like a fire burning in their hearts had been lit – that one fateful day turned into many more dates and an absolutely beautiful inseparable love. Andre fell in love with Bri’s “depth, maturity,” and how easily their conversations flow. Bri fell in love with Andre’s big heart, intelligence, humor, and the way his smile warmed her heart. Truly a beautiful match!
Jumping back to our engagement session, we headed off to New York for a few back alley shots filled with loading docks, brick paths, barber shops, and so much more – of course all of it was staged, but felt so incredibly real and super cool! I just love the loading doc shots of the two by the big wooden box. After our time in New York, we hopped, skipped, and headed over to Hollywood! How incredible to travel from New York to California in only a five-minute walk hehe.
Broadway was such a fun spot from the gold columns to the pastel walls. I loved the somber pinks and blues paired with the vibrant green foliage. It was such a beautiful spot to end on. I truly cannot wait to capture these two tie the knot at BB Kings this November! I just know it will be action packed with love…
Venue: Universal Studios
Seriously though – how did you not drop the ring Andre?!?!?!? Love this shot!
